10/5/2019 0 Comments Why a winter wedding?
It seems counter intuitive to be writing about all things winter when it's the 10th May and spring is well and truly upon us... but in the wonderful world of weddings we frequently operate 9-18 months ahead of 'real time' so winter weddings are always on our radar! And with 2 more dates remaining for this year we would love to see another couple of winter weddings in 2019!
We were recently approached by the team at Not Your Average I Do to host a Coral inspired shoot based around the recently announced Pantone Colour of the year, which is Coral... and pretty much exactly the same colour as our Ballroom!
We thought this would be a great way to see the house set up and styled in the depths of winter, with a wonderful team who had a really great vision for the day.
The team arrived on one of the worst snowy days of 2019 and I have to say showed pretty impressive grit and determination to deliver the amount they did on a shortened timescale to prevent them getting snowed in the village over night! Below we've chosen a selection of images, to highlight the amazing styling this team are capable of delivering. The styling throughout was absolutely beautiful and shows how warm, rich colours can bring to life an event, especially in the cooler light that winter offers.
We have realised it's best not to be hungry when reading blogs like this, or hosting shoots as the Macaroons and Cake were looking delicious! The desert table took centre stage in our Drawing Room and looked so enticing....
Finally for us the absolute stunning setting of the staircase was brought to life with real candles and impressive floral styling on the banisters... and yes we do allow real candles!
So this all begs the question, why don't more people choose a winter wedding? We'll get the fires ready for you, light the candles as dusk falls and you can enjoy the setting of Penton Park warm inside with no fear of how the weather might impact on your plans! I might be a little biased having married in February myself but we certainly think there is no such thing as a 'down season' in winter - especially not here where we know exactly how to host a winters wedding!
