The main reason for choosing a country house wedding venue (aside from the team on hand to make you feel totally at home) is the wow factor. Venues like Penton Park are full to the brim with stunning period features. We’ve spent years renovating, refreshing and restoring the house, bringing it back to its former glory to share with you on your special day. It’s been a labour of love, and the results are something we’re hugely proud of. You’ll be able to get to know the different rooms in the house and some of its stories in future blog posts. Today though, it’s all about making an entrance. The staircase at Penton Park is one of my favourite areas of the whole place. It’s flooded with natural light at all times of the year thanks to the huge glass atria, and it sweeps down into the hall at an angle that’s perfect for your bridal entrance into the ballroom or other ceremony space. Now, if you ask me, a grand entrance deserves a dress to match. Here are five wedding dresses that would look incredible as you glide down our staircase ready to greet your guests. Which is your favourite? SASSI HOLFORD - CORDELIA Unadulterated film-star glamour – this beautiful dress was made for you to unleash your inner Audrey Hepburn! I love the cross over pleat in the skirt and the lace panel. Classic with a 2018 twist – just gorgeous! ELIZA JANE HOWELL – DESIREE Daisy Buchanan called – she loves your dress! 1920s flair with some modern-day attitude, I would just love to see this dress slinking its way down our staircase! Talk about a showstopper. NAOMI NEOH – VENUS Something a little bit more ethereal, and I have to say I’m in love with all of Naomi Neoh’s celestial collection. This one is Venus, and the subtle silvery grey of the skirt would look stunning set against the sage and olive of Penton Park’s grand staircase (just saying!). LUSAN MANDONGUS – LOVIISA Oh that antique lace train! Imagine it spread behind you as you descend the stairs feeling like a million dollars! I love the subtle drama of this dress. It makes a big statement without hundreds of layers of tulle. JESUS PEIRO - STYLE 8002 It’s. Got. Pockets. That alone is enough to hook me on this design. Add in the sculptural fabric and subtle, modern cutaway detailing and I am all over this dress by Jesus Piero!
If you’d like to see how your wedding gown tackles our stunner of a staircase, get in touch! We still have some 2018 dates available, and would love to talk to you about your wedding plans.
