I can’t tell you how delighted I am to be writing this post and sharing this news with you. One of the many things I love about this house is its ability to shine no matter the season, but we’ve recently had some exciting developments that will make the summer months even more special here. We are now licensed for outdoor ceremonies, offering two beautiful spaces in the grounds in which you can say your vows. This is a real game changer when it comes to planning your wedding – it opens up a wealth of opportunities in terms of styling and the way you choose to use the spaces both inside and outside the house. Our Outdoor Ceremony Options The Portico Beautifully framed by the white stone of the house, you and your partner and registrar can stand under the portico and its soft wisteria to conduct your marriage ceremony. Your guests can take their seats on our sweeping drive, before you welcome them into the heart of the home, or for cocktails and canapés on the huge lawns, and among the spectacular, centuries-old trees. The portico offers a grand, statement space for your ceremony, and makes for some stunning photographs. The Gazebo Photography by Iona Taberham I am so pleased to be able to have our gorgeous gazebo licensed for ceremonies. It’s a lovely space at the bottom of our lawns – a quiet oasis away from the main house. It’s a beautifully shaped little pavilion with space on the lawns outside for your guests. I can’t wait to see it decked out with flowers, candles, or whatever other décor takes your fancy. Once you’ve said your marriage vows, why not bring the party back to the main house? Relax in comfort in our sitting room, have live music and canapés in the sunlit drawing room before dinner and dancing in the ballroom. This is just one way you can use the house during your wedding. Give us a call to book in a visit – we’d love to show you around and help you get a feel for the place and how versatile it can be. In other exciting ceremony news, we’ve also expanded our capacity for licensed ceremonies in the drawing room, and can now accommodate up to 70 guests. If you're planning a blessing rather than a licensed ceremony, then of course the whole grounds are your oyster. My personal recommendation for this would be to head for the trees. They make for a beautiful canopy to frame your marriage blessing. I loved this set up from Laura and Jake earlier this summer: 2019’s spring and summer weddings are looking to be very exciting indeed. We're now fully booked for August next year, but there are lots of summery weekends available and we do still have the odd winter 2018 date free, too. If you’re planning your wedding and want to find out more, then we want to hear from you. Get in touch and let’s talk about your plans.

I cannot imagine a better place in the world to have held our wedding, your family, the team, the venue all 100% perfection for our day - to have such warmth and care as we received from you all is virtually unheard of these days and at no point have we felt like just another wedding - thank you so much for allowing us to share in the use of your home (and Duke!).
