1/7/2019 0 Comments Which month should I marry in?
Here at Penton Park, surrounded by stunning Hampshire countryside we believe any month is a wonderful time to marry, and indeed have weddings all year round, from winter wonderlands embracing Christmas and roaring log fires, to summer fete themed celebrations with everyone enjoying the grounds until night falls... but which month is right for you?

First of all we believe there isn't one perfect month! This is reflected in our bookings, with the last one this year being in December and the first in February next year, we truly do host weddings all year round.
However, when planning your day stop and think about where you want your guests to be. Do you envisage friends and family sitting outside enjoying a late summer evening (english weather permitting!).... (Photo credit: Tansley Photography)
...or perhaps you dream of a winter's day with roaring log fires crackling away, and the rooms lit by candlelight as the sun begins to set in the late afternoon. The beauty of a winter wedding was captured superbly by Not Your Average I Do, at a recent shoot here at Penton Park, you can read the full details of this shoot and find out who helped create this wonderful image here...
For many of our guests they begin the planning with where they see their friends and family spending the day, for one couple who had a close family member that used a wheelchair the gardens and path around the meadow weren't so enticing as they wouldn't be able to be as enjoyed by this key guest. So in this instance winter, where all guests are inherently inside was the perfect choice.
For others a day filled with garden games, welly wanging and fete style fun meant it simply had to be a summers day (thank you to Wessex Events for putting on a fab display of fete games for this particular wedding!) Embracing your month and season of wedding can also help with all the fabulous details, we loved Jess's flower crown!
However, please, dare to dream, and create your perfect day in the way you want... !
We absolutely loved seeing Gemma and Michael embrace a full roast lunch on their August wedding this year. Remember this is your wedding and you can make all of your own rules... So if you are planning your own wedding and can't decide what month is best, start with a season... do you want nature to provide the best colourful backdrop it can? If so then spring with the bluebells and daffodils, or autumn with the low light and beautiful leaves changing colour might be best for you....
If you dream of roaring log fires, candles from an early hour and glamorous winter outfits then embrace October to March...
And for those dreaming of a hot and balmy wedding go for it in mid summer, hopefully you'll get a perfect English summers day, which we all know just can't be beaten!
Whatever you choose have the most wonderful day...
