I can’t tell you how delighted I am to be writing this post and sharing this news with you. One of the many things I love about this house is its ability to shine no matter the season, but we’ve recently had some exciting developments that will make the summer months even more special here. We are now licensed for outdoor ceremonies, offering two beautiful spaces in the grounds in which you can say your vows. This is a real game changer when it comes to planning your wedding – it opens up a wealth of opportunities in terms of styling and the way you choose to use the spaces both inside and outside the house.

Styled shoots are a fantastic way for wedding industry suppliers to let loose with their creativity. Stylists, photographers, florists and a host of others put together beautiful looks that will really wow potential couples, and show brides and grooms to be what’s possible. We’re always delighted to be approached for a styled shoot, and it’s been amazing watching from the sidelines as Penton Park transforms under the gaze of different talented stylists and creative directors. One of my favourite styled shoots from earlier this year was created by Edmina from Aleeka Events. It was shot by Philippa Sian Photography – whose ability to capture light is truly special, and is a perfect fit for our huge bay windows and sunlit rooms – and these images have made me so, so happy. After blogging for a fair old while now, I thought it was high time I introduced myself properly. This week it’s another ‘meet the team’ special, and it’s my turn in the spotlight. I love this house deeply, and it feels like a member of our family. It’s got its own personality, and is full of quirks. My official role in the Penton Park team is as ‘Managing Partner’, which essentially means I play a big part in making sure this gorgeous place consistently puts its best foot forward for our lovely brides and grooms. I handle the marketing and PR; the less-glamorous side of running a venue, like VAT returns and sorting insurance (I’m a wizard with a spreadsheet!); and help to keep everything running like clockwork. After a glorious weekend where the whole country celebrated The Royal Wedding, I think it’s safe to say that the incredible flower arches will stay in our minds for a long while! I know I’m seeing white roses, peonies and lush green foliage every time I close my eyes!
It’s been a funny old year seasonally, with The Beast from The East delaying spring for us for so long. However we’re in the clear now, and the grounds of Penton Park are blossoming in the long awaited sunshine. I love the spring and how everyone’s mood appears instantly lifted by the trees and gardens bursting back to life. The fabulously talented Joey Burns of The Wild Fox shares my love of spring flowers. Joey took part in a styled shoot here at Penton Park, and I love her beautifully artistic and locally grown floral designs. I chatted with Joey a couple of weeks ago. Here’s what she had to say about choosing flowers for a spring wedding, and how she might like to tackle the styling of a country house like Penton Park. |
